In this webcast, Beth Gould Creller, SVP, Certifications and Educational Programs at GARP, will discuss how the SCR Certificate was created based on the most current thinking on climate risk and sustainability. Beth will be joined by members of the inaugural SCR class to discuss how they approached the exam and are using SCR insights to lead climate risk projects at their firms.
Beth Gould Creller joined GARP in 2018, leading our Energy Risk Professional (ERP) and Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) programs. Prior to GARP, she worked at Hess Corporation, in the upstream oil and gas industry, for over 16 years.
Working across multiple continents, her energy career spans risk, audit, business controls, process improvement, and governance. Beth developed an embedded Enterprise Risk Management program for an international oil & gas firm, inclusive of a COSO-based risk framework, key in company capital decision-making & asset valuation. Beth holds an MBA in International Business from the University of Saint Thomas.
Ms. Susanne Perneby is a Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) specialist assisting financial market participants with risk management and interpretation of regulations and guidelines. She has worked as a credit risk analyst, in valuation control, and served as a Financial Risk Officer.
Previously she was a strategic analyst in the Swedish fixed income market. Susanne has an MSc in econometrics and a degree in mathematics from the University of Stockholm.
Brendan Walsh is the founder and managing partner of ESG Risk Guard, and the former executive vice president and general manager at American Express in the U.S.
Having held several roles of high responsibility throughout the world (including London, Hong Kong, Sydney, Paris, and New York), he has a deep understanding of global business and a passion for sustainable development on a global scale.
Brendan has developed a sustainability plan (focusing on energy, water, and waste reduction) for the largest public health system in the U.S., as well as an evaluation of ESG risk management and reporting in the financial services sector.
André Costa is the founder and managing director at Free Enterprise Advisors and Legacy Wealth & Corporate Services. André is also a registered investment advisor with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) with the CFTC, and a licensed insurance broker registered with the SUSEP.
